It’s National Nurses Week: Celebrate Nurses Everywhere

In honor of Florence Nightingale’s birthday, we celebrate National Nurses Week from May 6th to May 12th each year. Together with the American Nurses Association, we work to spread awareness and create recognition programs that will honor nurses worldwide. It's National Nurses Week Celebrate Nurses Everywhere

Give Thanks to the Nurses in Your Life

Consider various ways to show thanks to nurses that touch your life, directly and indirectly, each day. Without nurses, we would not have the ability  to take care of our clients receiving home health and hospice care.  Each day, our nurses bring their expertise and compassion to care for our patients. Sometimes the smallest smile or listening ear while stopping in for a checkup improves the patient’s whole day.

How can you thank a nurse in your life? Donate to a passionate nursing cause. Offer a discount to nurses for your business. Send flowers to the local hospital addressed to the nurses. Or send thank you notes to all the nurses in your life, including your pediatric nurse for your children or hospice nurse for your elderly parents. They all deserve to be acknowledged for their dedication and daily duties.

Spread the Word

Once you have recognized the nurses in your life, share National Nurses Week with your friends and neighbors. Encourage them to do the same by donating to a nurse’s association or sending a gift and thank you note to the nurses in their lives. We can all come together to make sure nurses feel our love during their special week.
